Clance Hillside Station

Clance Hillside Station

Clance Hillside Station is a precision computer-engineered craftsman HO/HOn3 kit.  It’s based on Cross Junction Station from John Allen’s famous Gorre and Daphetid railroad.

The kit features laser cut Northeastern aged clapboard and scribed sheathing and new exclusive laser etched stone walls, Paper Creek weathered shingles, Mt. Albert precision milled scale lumber, Grandt Line windows and doors, a variety of specially printed crate signs, station signs, and posters, and a complete set of metal and plastic detail castings. The kit also features specially cast resin “jigs” that make building the stairways and stairway railings a breeze.

The kit comes with all the components to create the museum quality diorama you see pictured here, including a fully illustrated 120 page construction manual that features step-by-step explanations on building, weathering, and landscaping. The manual features actual photos for almost every step! Although the manual is black and white, the kit includes a CD-ROM (PC and Mac compatible) that contains full color high resolution photos, some of which are only on the CD-ROM, as well as the entire manual with color photos in Adobe Acrobat PDF form.

The construction manual features high precision construction templates, exploded views, and more—all in scale dimensions, so you could use the plans to recreate this fine station in another scale. You can preview the construction manual by clicking here to open an Adobe Acrobat PDF version:

(*) this downloadable version is about 50MB. It does NOT have clickable links to the high resolution photos or a clickable table of contents. The version included with the CDROM in the kit has high resolution full screen pictures linked to all photos in the manual as well as clickable table of contents and links throughout.

Vehicles, figures, lights, and locos are not included, but are all listed and pictured in the manual along with instructions on how to add lights to your station, so you can easily get the kind of exciting station scene you see pictured here.

The height of the structure from the bottom to the upper track (measured at the rear of the structure) is: 26′ HO (about 3-1/2″) high. The top steps are 10′ HO high (about 1-3/8″). The bottom run of steps is 12′ HO high (about 1-5/8″). The structure footprint is 8″ wide x 5″ deep. The diorama as pictured (and as documented in the construction manual) is 14-1/2″ wide by 14″ deep.

Each kit comes in a box featuring a full color photo and containing a construction manual with black and white photos and step-by-step instructions on how to build, detail, and finish the entire scene you see pictured here, including landscaping. The kit box contains all the precision laser cut wood, paper, shingles, wire, stripwood, a smaller box containing a full set of metal and plastic detail castings, cast jigs for building the stairways, and railings, and a CD-ROM containing the manual with full color high resolution pictures. The manual is professionally printed and spiral bound and features a full color high resolution cover and back cover with several detailed shots of the completed kit.
